Birth Doula Care

As a Birth Doula, Jen is trained in the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labour.

She assists the woman and her partner in identifying and carrying out their wishes for childbirth.

Jen stays with the woman throughout her labour and birth, utilizing non-medical comfort techniques.

She strives to facilitate communication between the woman, her partner, and her health care provider(s).

Jen works together with the rest of your birth team to provide support to the mother during her birth, whether at home or hospital.

Breastfeeding Counselling

Jen’s role in assisting you with Breastfeeding is to help you explore a range of options, backed up with good technical knowledge of what helps breastfeeding happen naturally. It’s up to you what path you follow, as it is a personal relationship between you and your babe.

Private Prenatal Education

I currently offer basic prenatal education to my clients as part of their care. However I hope in the furture to provide a more structured private prenatal education class to clients.

Belly Casting

I offer belly casting to my clients as a way to preserve their beautiful blossoming belly. I believe it is a beautiful way to remember the shape and size of our babied first cradle. Belly casting is usually done in late pregnancy to capture a size and shape closest to full-term. Some women use it as a first cradle when baby is born in symbolism of their “Womb Cradle.” Beautiful for first pictures of baby.

I am passionate about taking video and film of my clients births if they so choose to. I am open to using either your equipment or my own at your request.
